On Saturday, November 22nd in Hull, Massachusetts, the Vinalhaven High School Rowing team once again proved they are the best in the Northeast United States. Battling unbelievable temperatures and wind, Vinalhaven rowers won their division, category 1st sixes, which is basically the highest category you can enter.

Vinalhaven has won 4 out of the past 5 Northeast Open Water Rowing Championships. Seniors Sig Beckman, Hillary Bunker, Chad Guilford, Katilynn Willis, and Willard Webster have formed the core of this rowing dynasty. Ginger Swears (11th grade), Catherine Haley (10th grade), and Karen Krager (9th grade) all helped power this team to victory as well. Coaches Mark Jackson and Heather White have done a superb job building a team that is skilled, supports one another, works to improve, and wins. CONGRATULATIONS ROWERS!
