Vinalhaven School is a school-community of approximately 200 students and 40 staff members. The school is on the island of Vinalhaven which is located 12 miles, or a 1 hour and 15 minute ferry ride, off of Rockland, Maine. The island and school communities are interdependent. Vinalhaven's geography, history, economy, and, above all, people create a school-community that is unique, dynamic, and committed to excellence.  The school strives to develop students who will succeed in a global economy and strengthen their local, island community.
